Your team:

Dovecot Cloud is one of three expert teams within the Dovecot Constellation, focused on delivering Dovecot Pro for cloud environments – primarily powering OX Cloud. We develop key components like object storage integration, the cluster controller, and Kubernetes-based tooling.
We’re a team of 7 with strong backgrounds in C, Python, operations, and product delivery. We're now looking for a Kubernetes expert to help us design, run, and scale reliable infrastructure for our cloud-based mail platform.

Your new job:

  • Designing, operating, and supporting Kubernetes workloads in production.
  • Creating and maintaining Helm charts and deployment pipelines.
  • Writing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Participating in on-call duty rotation to ensure high availability and incident response.
  • Contributing to system architecture, observability, and scalability improvements.

This is the tech stack you'll be working with:

  • System: Linux / Docker / Kubernetes
  • Deployment: Helm / Ansible / Terraform
  • CI: GitLab CI
  • Programming: Bash & Python
  • Specific to our product: Dovecot, Cassandra, Redis, Prometheus, Object Storage, Haproxy

Your background:

While experience is essential, a strong ownership mindset and eagerness to continuously improve are highly valued.

  • You have a deep understanding of Kubernetes internals and managing production-grade deployments.
  • You bring strong experience in working with Helm, including creating and maintaining custom charts.
  • You are proficient in Linux systems and container runtimes such as Docker and containerd.
  • You are skilled in automation and scripting, always looking to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency.
  • You have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible in production environments.
  • You are familiar with observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana, as well as distributed storage systems.
  • You can effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing across all levels.
  • You are motivated and creative, with a passion for connecting the world through Open Source technology and promoting digital sovereignty.

This is what you get at Open-Xchange:

  • The flexibility to work 100% remotely ensures a work environment that suits you best.
  • Flexible working hours that allow you to successfully combine your home and family responsibilities with work.
  • Stay up to date with latest tech, by working on modern private cloud software in a dynamic, international team.
  • Sharing ideas and collaborating with each other to drive the company’s success is part of our DNA.
  • Getting together in-person for workshops and fun team events.
  • Time off to volunteer – and mental health support when you need it.
  • We provide financial relief through corporate benefits and a subsidy for ergonomic chairs and desks.
  • We can discuss further location-related benefits together in an initial talk.
